Objectifs du cours
At the end of the course, the student should be able to :
- Summarize the entrepreneurial decision-making process;
- Assess the feasibility of new venture business concepts;
- Execute an industry and market analysis, market segmentation, and target market selection;
- Examine business competition and develop a competitive analysis grid;
- Decide on a positioning strategy, new venture team, and business model;
- Clarify possible operations issues relevant to new venture concepts;
- Produce new business financial statements and categorize possible alternatives of raising money;
- Evaluate challenges inherent to new firm growth;
- Integrate several different competences and management disciplines in an organization and conduct multitask missions;
- Analyze and solve complex business problems with the appropriate methodology;
- Have greater awareness about ESRS topics such as: Ethical standards in business competition and
development, tripple bottom line;
- Adequately present a business idea.
Contenu du cours
The course is designed to immerse students into the theory of entrepreneurship and new venture creation. Through interactive lectures and assignments this course addresses the trepidations of students who may consider becoming entrepreneurs at some point in their career. Combining theoretical concepts with creative thinking and in-class discussions, participants are expected to accumulate entrepreneurial knowledge and behaviors that support creative solutions.
