Objectifs du cours

At the end of the course the student should be able to :
Define health according to the World Health Organization
Identify the Sustainability Goals from the United Nations
Link the relevance of health and national economic well-being
Respect cultural differences in maintaining health and well-being
Realize the benefits of good global health and international business

Contenu du cours

In this course students will be exposed to the WHO's definition of health and the Sustainability Goals set forth by the United Nations. Links will be made to specific international examples and comparisons among high, middle, and low income countries. Challenges in national health objectives will be identified along the paradigm of physical, mental, and social well-being as well as macro- and micro- implications that impact the economic well-being and potentiality of business investment.

Évaluation

Students will be presented with a course pack including relevant links to readings due before the seminar given the next day (15% given to active discussion of the readings). Students will be expected to attend the 4 class sections (20%) and will present a final project (65%)--either individually or in a group (based on student's preference) and due the following Monday.
