Contenu du cours
This course focuses on the managerial challenges of managing the process of digital transformation. The emphasis is on the different levels of management and on the strategic (external) and organizational (internal) challenges that managers face when implementing digital transformation. The course draws on research on economics, strategy, organizational theory, organizational behaviour to address two core challenges in IT-related change: making change happen and making change visible. The perspective of the middle manager used in the course is that of an improviser and a bricoleur, who has to address top management's demands with limited authority, limited resources and employees with varying levels of competence and motivation. The course draws on an IT-led change management case which will be used to ground short lectures, discussions and group exercises.
The goal of this course is to introduce students to the challenges of designing and implementing IT-led change processes in organizations.
