Contenu du cours

For almost all organisations, continuous innovation is the key to long term sustainability and success. Thus, the purpose of this course is to examine how innovation happens in organisations. Specific attention will also be given to understanding how ICT systems can be used to both create and support innovation activities. Focusing on the components of innovation success – ideation, idea selection, collaboration, portfolio and project management, ambidexterity etc. – the course will present and critique numerous case studies detailing how management can bolster innovation and what ICT can play. In some cases, ICT can stifle innovation and these will be debated also. Emerging innovation management concepts such as ‘open innovation’ and ‘service innovation’ will be assessed along with the potential for social media technologies within these paradigms.
