Pré requis

The course builds up on knowledge acquired in introduction to operations, industrial realities and optimization methods. It is therefore requested that the students validated those courses. Also, we want to mention that extensive use of Excel is done to take decisions in supply chain.
Note that to attend this course you MUST attend the course 'DECISION TOOLS FOR OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT ' taught at the beginning of the semester.

Objectifs du cours

The course objective is to cover the supply chain strategy and concepts and to give students a solid understanding of the analytical tools necessary to solve the supply chain problems. As a result, the goals and objectives are as follows:
1. Describe how a company achieves strategic fit between its supply chain strategy and its competitive strategy
2. Identify the major drivers of supply chain performance, understand how they are related
3. Understand the trade-offs between different SC network
4. Apply the concepts to improve supply chain performance
5. Analyze a supply chain network, identify the problems and suggest improvement solutions focusing on the key drivers of the supply chain
6. Analyze global supply chain network design decisions in an uncertain environment

100% attendance is expected. Due to the intense nature of this course, a minimum attendance (10 out of 12 sessions) will be strictly enforced.
• Class participation (contribution to class discussion and preparation of cases) 20%

• final exam: 40%
