Pré requis
Experience interacting with groups - through giving presentations, organising activities as well as through
professional (meetings, negotiations, sales marketing and project management) as well as creative activities
(art, music, theatre) are assets. Willingness to reflect upon oneself and strengthen areas of weakness.
Openness to various perspectives, sharing one's views and experiences and respecting those of others.
Objectifs du cours
At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
• Apply mindfulness techniques to enhance interpersonal communication
• Enhance speaking and listening abilities through developing emotional intelligence
• Build a sense of connection and trust through authenticity, self-expression and compassion
• Align one's motivations and goals toward 'win-win' situations through mindful communication
Contenu du cours
Sessions take place on 4 consecutive days in groups of 15-18 students. These will include (a) lectures -
introducing each topic and its theoretical basis and applications, (b) discussions to enhance comprehension,
and (c) activities - individual and group exercises, and role-plays to implement each theme.
The course requires active participation and commitment. The following themes will be covered:
Session 1- What is mindful communication? : Better listening and speaking
Session 2- The role of self-confidence and emotional intelligence
Session 3- Building connection and trust: exploring one's unique abilities to communicate mindfully
Session 4- Aligning personal values and goals with interpersonal relationships and communication

Assessment: Students will combine these skills to write an individual paper in response to a case study with
related questions evoking the themes of the course, to submit two weeks after the completion of the course
