Objectifs du cours

Strategy is key to gain competitive advantage at company level as well as within the network and/or value chain. This course provides an overview of different theories for analyzing various aspects of strategic management and organization as well as gives practical examples to simulate possible strategic challenges happening in the real world:
• Strategic Management
• Management and organization at network, chain and company level
• Organizational competences
• Path dependencies, organizational rigidities and dynamic capabilities

Modalités d'enseignement

Organisation du cours

Lectures


In the lectures, the main theoretical frameworks for analyzing strategic management are presented. Basic theories will be complemented with more recent developments.


Practical examples will be recalled and used to see how companies put in practice theoretical models.


Flipped classroom with discussion


In the flipped classrooms, students present and discuss topics, based on their review of the provided literature for a specific topic. Scientific articles will be suggested and students practice with analysis of literature and translation into the "real world" of management.


Case study exercises


Stdent will work in groups to solve different case studies proposed by the teacher. The solutions are discussed in class in order to apply the theories learnt during previous lectures. The cases are useful to let the students tackle a practical problem which can arise in a company, mainly dealing with strategic decisions.
