Objectifs du cours

N.B: For International Exchange Students only, this course = 2 ECTS

The course aims to improve students’ presentation and oral business communication skills while focusing on globalization and expansion abroad, corporate social responsibility and questions around business ethics issues. There is a strong current events aspect to the class as students will be required to become acquainted with the major issues touching upon the topics of the semester. Students can expect to interpret and analyze text and other documents (audio, video, etc) for gist, detail and inference. There will be a major emphasis on oral presentation skills: presentation dos and don’ts, presentation structure, language and formats.

Learning outcomes:

-Capacity to integrate knowledge, learn new material, analyze documents.

-Capacity to prepare and deliver stellar and professional presentations in groups and individually.

-Capacity to describe, analyse and evaluate the environmental, social, cultural, economic, legal and organisational aspects influencing vulnerabilities and capacities of companies orally and concisely.

-Capacity to work theoretically and practically in the processes of presentation creation

The small class size and student-centered approach are designed to facilitate and ensure language acquisition and use through active student participation and involvement.

Flipped classroom

Students will be expected to fully prepare in advance for the classes thereby maximising classroom time. This will involve: the prior acquisition of the necessary vocabulary, the reading of prescribed articles, research on the internet to further their knowledge of the topics.
