The students must remember what they learnt in first year in the course "Economics of Globalisation".

Objectifs du cours

• Going further in the study of economics started in 1st year.

• Focusing on money, finance and financial systems.

At the end of this course, the student should be able to understand financial economics

Contenu du cours

• An introduction to money and the financial system

• Money and payment system

• Financial instruments, financial markets and financial institutions

• Future value, present value and interest rate

• Understanding risk

• Bonds bond prices and the determination of interest rates

• The risk and term structure of interest rates

• Stock markets

• Derivatives: future options and swaps

• Foreign exchange

• Central bank balance sheet and the money supply process

Modalités d'enseignement

Organisation du cours

• Non-legal matter: general culture

• Practical exercises: each session and at home. Students can check whether they understood and are able to put concepts into practice.

• Prepare the students who want to join a Business School or our “Business Law and Management” program

• The courses and presentations of each subject rely on Powerpoint presentations. The slides are then sent to the students so they can use them to study for the exam
