Being familiar with the major events of the 20th century;
Understanding the challenges of the 20th century.

Contenu du cours

The course offers an overview of the political, economic, social and cultural processes that have characterized the last century, from the end of the 19th century onwards, focusing on thematic subjects.

Some topics covered will be World War I; fascisms, the Spanish Civil War, World War II and the anti-fascist Resistance; the Holocaust; decolonialism and independence movements; mafias in the global world; the century of women: feminist battles in the 20th century.

Continuous assessment:

Final exam (1 hour):
- 10 closed questions + 1 short open question (5 lines maximum).
