Prerequisites
Knowledge of the leadership theories/practices and negotiation practices that have withstood the test of time.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student should be able to :
Articulate a coherent leadership strategy in regards to the HR role and responsibilities.
This would include interview techniques, competency development plans, negotiations basics, presentation skills and a teachable point of view regarding leadership.
Course description
Part one: Understanding the components of a leadership strategy that would enable the student to contribute early in roles and assignments. Start to understand the concept of a teachable point of view and apply it to their plans.
Part two: Selection interview techniques - How to prepare for an interview and how to conduct an interview to descern talent and competencies.
Part three: Theory and practical concepts of effective negotiations.
Part four: Effective Presentation Skills, how to be "Good in the Room".
