Learning outcomes
At the end of the ocurse, the student should be able to :
• Communicate effectively business process designs to domain experts
• Apply quality principles to process design
• Perform a root cause analysis
• Produce simple process designs using BPMN
• Produce simple process designs using UML
Course description
1. Formal methods (BPMN): Tasks, flows, swimlanes, pools, actors; Gateways;Events
2. Root cause analysis: Pain points; Ishikawa (fishbone) diagrams
3. Quality: Value of quality; Statistical control
4. Informal methods (UML): Domains and domain experts; Metaphor; Semantic nets; Objects; Stories; Sequence diagrams; Activity diagrams; State diagrams
