Learning outcomes
This course will present the main business characteristics of various import export activities.
At the end of the course, the student should be able to :
- understand how import export businesses are set up.
- design and master an appropriate import export strategy for a firm.
- analyse reasons of success/ failure in this field of activity.
Course description
The course will present the basic notions used in the import export business.
It must be emphasized that this course is taught as an interactive course, i. e. class participation is essential.
Basic concepts covered during the course are:
- cultural factors
- approach of foreign markets
- basics of international trade
- principal tools for conducting an import export activity
- international transportation and freight rules, financial aspects, customs policies,.
- general import export expertise
