Course description
The Lean Production Principle is introduced and applications from industrial companies, organizations as well as the health care and service area are discussed. The main idea is to focus on the customer and what makes the product or service valuable for the customer. Which activities is the customer willing to pay for? All activities/processes which are not adding value to the product or service have to be eliminated or minimized. Value might be different from quality. During the course the students will obtain an understanding for what the lean production principle is and through a project make suggestions for how lean can be implemented in a given case. A question is also how lean can be maintained and continued.
At the same time the students will focus on advantages and disadvantages in lean
