Prerequisites

It is essential that students have a background on General Service Management.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student should be able to demonstrate:
- demonstrate a critical awareness of the main problems faced in health care service management
-realise the organisational issues necessary for managing the resources in health care sevices
-demonstrate general knowledge and action for today’s health care service management tecniques
-spanning tactical and operational decision-making in the sector
-understand the techniques for improving quality, reducing costs and enhancing patient flow in the health care system

Course description

Session 1: Introduction to the challenges in health care - Decision making tools in heath care concept
Session 2: Operations improvement in health care services
Session 3: Project management and facility improvent tecniques in health care services
Session 4: Scheduling and staffing methods in health care organisations.
