Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
• A general understanding and review of 21st Century Supply Chain Management in comparison to pre-21st Century Supply Chain Management – what are the major trends that should drive our strategies
• A forum for the identification of Supply Chain Relationships and the roles of relationships in the scope of business – benefits and opportunities. Discussion of case studies and examples of the relationships
• An understanding of the nuances and values of Global Supply Chain Management Relationships
• A forum to discuss Innovative and Cutting Edge Global Supply Chain Relationship strategies
Course description
Relationships are the most crucial resources in businesses and they are the root to other resources including financial resources and other capital. Relationship Capital is key. This is why we should pay extraordinary attention to and nurture relationships between individuals, organizations, public private partnerships and between countries. In Supply Chains, paying attention to relationships is a challenge and requires research and resources. Often we don’t know the cast of relationships and we have not valued them. But we will not have sustainable businesses, societies and countries unless we focus on Global Supply Chain Management Relationships in the 21st Century. WIth the advent of Globalization and the many interactions between countries, we must study and understand Supply Chain Management from the Global perspective and especially in terms of the relationships in Globbal Supply Chains.
