Learning outcomes
- Training the student in translation from French into English starting with literary texts and current events articles.
- Review of basic grammatical structures.
- Introduction to problems of style.
Course description
COURSE PROGRAM:
• Translating literary & journalistic texts into English
• Looking at common grammatical difficulties when comparing French and English
• Introduction to problems of style & register
• Introduction to translating songs, cartoon strips and film scripts
